F10 Notification

An F10 is the form the client (or someone acting on their behalf) must use to notify the HSE of a notifiable construction project under CDM 2015.
A project is notifiable if it is expected to last longer than 30 working days and have more than 20 workers on site at any one time, or to involve more than 500 person-days of construction work.
The F10 is submitted online to the HSE before the construction phase begins. It captures basic project details, the client, the principal designer and the principal contractor.
Failing to notify a notifiable project is a common compliance failure on larger refurbishment work where the project value is modest but the duration and headcount creep over the threshold.
Why it matters
An F10 is one of the few CDM duties with a hard, public deadline — submit it before construction starts. Missing it is visible and easily checked.
