Frequently asked questions
- Is a risk assessment legally required?
- Under the Model WHS Act, PCBUs must manage risks to health and safety. A documented risk assessment is the standard way to evidence that duty, and is explicitly required for hazardous chemicals, confined space, asbestos and lead.
- How does it differ from a SWMS?
- A SWMS is required for the 18 HRCW activities. A risk assessment is the broader written assessment of any hazard. Many PCBUs prepare both.
- Are workers consulted?
- Consultation with workers and HSRs is a duty. Riskora produces the document; consultation is the process you run with your crew before issue.
- Is it free to start?
- Yes — first risk assessment is free.
