Build UK construction method statements — numbered sequence, named responsible person, PPE, permits and sign-off. CDM 2015 aligned.
Frequently asked questions
- What's the difference between a method statement and a RAMS?
- A method statement describes how the work is done. A risk assessment identifies hazards and controls. RAMS combines them in one document — most UK PCs want the combined RAMS, but a standalone method statement is common on smaller jobs.
- How detailed does the sequence need to be?
- Detailed enough that a competent operative unfamiliar with the site can follow the order of work safely — but not so long the crew won't read it. Riskora balances both.
- Who signs the method statement?
- The competent person who wrote it signs it off; the site supervisor accepts it and the crew sign on before work starts.
