A CCTV installation RAMS must cover working at height for camera positioning (ladder, MEWP or pole work), ELV electrical safety for PoE and 12/24V supplies, mains supply work where a fused spur or DB connection is required (and the qualification of the engineer doing it), structured cabling through ceiling voids and risers (with asbestos awareness), pole and mast work where used, public-area controls including pedestrian protection and GDPR signage, and ladder/MEWP rescue planning for elevated work.
A modern CCTV install isn't a single trade — it touches working at height, ELV electrical, structured cabling, sometimes mains supply, and frequently public-realm work for external cameras. Engineers often hold an ECS or SSAIB qualification but not full electrical competence, which is fine for the ELV and data portion but creates a scope-boundary issue at the mains spur.
