Everything a UK risk assessment needs — on a touch screen

Most risk assessment software is a desktop spreadsheet with a mobile login bolted on. Riskora was built phone-first because risks are spotted on site, not at a desk.

Workplace presets

Office, warehouse, retail, care, school, events, lone working and the full construction trade library. Pick your context and the hazards load.

Photos from your phone

Tap to attach a hazard photo straight from the camera. It's embedded in the PDF and tied to the specific risk.

On-screen signatures

Workers and the assessor sign with a finger. Captured against the document version and time-stamped.

5×5 matrix built-in

Score likelihood × severity, apply the hierarchy of controls, re-score the residual risk. The maths is done for you.

HSE-aligned by default

MHSWR 1999 structure. Suitable-and-sufficient test, hazard register, persons-at-risk, controls and review date — every time.

Clean PDF download

Branded, ready to send. Email it to the client, the principal contractor or attach to your CHAS / SMAS / Constructionline submission.

On-site workflow

How a risk assessment runs on the app

  1. 1

    Pick a preset

Open the app, pick the workplace type — office, warehouse, care home, school, event, construction trade. The hazard library loads pre-selected.

  2. 2

    Walk the area

Tap to add hazards as you spot them. Take photos with the camera — they attach to the specific risk.

  3. 3

    Score with the 5×5 matrix

Tap likelihood, tap severity, the score is calculated. Apply the hierarchy of controls and re-score the residual risk.

  4. 4

    Capture signatures

Workers and the assessor sign with a finger. Time-stamped and tied to that exact version of the assessment.

  5. 5

    Download the PDF

One tap downloads a clean branded PDF. Email it to the client, principal contractor or upload to your accreditation portal.

What UK law requires from a risk assessment

The Management of Health and Safety at Work Regulations 1999 require a suitable and sufficient assessment of risks to anyone affected by your work. If you employ 5 or more people, the significant findings must be recorded — and the app does that for you in PDF form, ready to file or email.

  • MHSWR 1999 — general risk assessment duty, applies to every workplace.
  • CDM 2015 — adds construction-specific duties; covered by the construction presets.
  • Competent person sign-off — the assessor must be trained and experienced for the activity. The app captures who signed and when.

Frequently asked questions

Is the risk assessment app free?

Yes — your first risk assessment is free, no card required. You complete the full workflow on your phone, download a clean PDF and decide whether to upgrade for unlimited downloads.

Can I do a risk assessment on my phone?

Yes. Riskora is designed phone-first. Pick a workplace preset, score hazards with the 5×5 matrix, attach site photos, capture signatures and download a branded PDF — all from the browser on iOS or Android.

Does the app cover non-construction workplaces?

Yes. Riskora ships with presets for offices, warehouses, retail, care homes, schools, events and lone working as well as the full construction trade library. The 5×5 matrix and hierarchy of controls structure works for any UK workplace.

Can I attach photos and signatures from my phone?

Yes. The app uses your phone camera for hazard photos and captures typed or drawn signatures on-screen. Both are embedded in the downloaded PDF.

Will it pass an HSE inspection?

Riskora's risk assessments are structured around the HSE 'suitable and sufficient' test from MHSWR 1999. As long as you capture site-specific detail and have a competent person sign-off, the format is what an inspector expects to see.
